LOWELL, MA, October 8, 2015 – Persivia, a company dedicated to providing the healthcare industry with cutting-edge precision medicine, quality, and chronic care management solutions, today announced Persivia’s Real-time CQM NavigatorTM to help providers meet the new clinical decision support (CDS) requirements in the recently released CMS Stage 3 Final Rule. The solution ties CDS with clinical quality measures (CQM) in order to deliver quality improvement interventions to providers at the point of care.
“In relation to CDS capabilities, there are two things that Persivia continues to do better than anyone else. Specifically, we allow for i) the creation and ii) the management of sophisticated CDS interventions by clinical personnel.” said Mansoor Khan, Sc.D., CEO of Persivia, “It is obvious from reading the comments that CMS chose to publish in the Stage 3 Final Rule that these are of great importance to both CMS and the provider community as they try to implement Stage 3. We are very happy to have a production-tested system that includes over 30,000 evidence-based rules that our customers can use to immediately meet these new CDS requirements.”
The Real-time CQM Navigator is designed to provide interventions that are consistent with any quality measures that might apply to an encounter at points in the clinical workflow that are best suited to impact a patient’s care. As a result, providers can focus on using the most recent evidence to focus on patient care rather than worrying about sliding on certain metrics. This product helps with Measure 1 of Objective 3 of Stage 3 Final Rule: “Clinical Decision Support to implement five clinical decision support interventions related to four or more CQMs at a relevant point in patient care for the entire EHR reporting period.”
The Real-time CQM Navigator is EMR-agnostic and supports multiple terminologies through “Clinical Terminology GroupersTM (CTGTM),” which eliminates concerns about coding standards for any particular Quality Measure Set, and provides specificity at the patient level eliminating duplicate alerts to physicians. These rules support common clinical topics, address clinical quality measures from Meaningful Use Stage I and II for Eligible Providers and Eligible Hospitals, Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), Accountable Care Organizations (ACO), and Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS).
